Gretta Dare

Gretta Dare started her career in property management as a leasing consultant and spent the next eighteen years moving through nearly every operational role in both student and conventional housing.  Her early experience with exceptional companies like Equity Residential, Aimco, American Campus Communities, and Trinitas Ventures offered the foundational knowledge for on-site operations, leasing and marketing, new development,  and institutional operating standards.

She later served as Managing Director of a boutique student housing firm, and separately held a leadership role overseeing the transition of management for more than twenty student and conventional properties nationwide. These experiences reinforced her focus on transparent operations, performance accountability, and scalable systems.

Gretta continued building on that foundation as President of SH Central, contributing to the development and design of an advanced reporting platform that combined data clarity, market intelligence, and operational visibility—reflecting her long-standing interest in technology as a practical, everyday tool for operators.

Today, as CEO of Vitra Housing, she leads a growing property management and consulting company known for operational transparency, resident-focused service, and adaptive, technology-forward systems. Vitra supports owners, operators, and housing partners across multiple markets with a flexible, high-accountability approach designed for modern portfolios.

Beyond her operational roles, Gretta is the co-host and creator-of-things alongside Wes Deese at Student Housing Insight, where she shares industry news, and practical guidance with operators nationwide.

Outside of work, Gretta is back home in Indiana and spends as much time as possible with her family, which remains the center of her world.
